The bluehead wrasse is one of the most common fish on the reef in the Western Atlantic. They are all born as females, and only dominant males show the supermale coloration. Some males are still able to spawn, but still retain juvenile coloration. Supermales can grow to about 5" max. A school of these wrasse is a beatiful addition to any large tank. Juveniles will set up cleaning stations to groom other fish. They are a wrasse, and therfore, can be aggressive, and they are hardy eaters. Will not damage corals, but may take interest in your crabs or clams.
