The Common Starfish is a very adaptive starfish, as it can live in both brackish and marine environments. They are a good choice for FOWLR tanks with aggressive fish, as they perform important functions as a scavenger. Generally not considered reef safe, but good additions in certain aquarium systems. They can get rather large, growing to over 6". I have had several people use them to feed Harlequin Shrimp as well.
